A few words about us

Our story

On September 6, 2019, Lena Andrianakos was diagnosed with High Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the tender age of 21 months old. Within days of her diagnosis, she began intense chemotherapy treatment that has been ongoing ever since. The treatment plan for cases like Lena’s continues for over two years following diagnosis. Lena is set to complete her treatments in January 2022.

Throughout her battle, Lena has demonstrated remarkable resilience and strength. She has managed to maintain her contagious smile and wit while always lighting up every room. She is a true inspiration to all.
At the time of Lena’s diagnosis, when her parents were trying to find a way to stay strong for their little girl, they came across a quote that resonated with them. The quote stated, “After every storm there is a rainbow, no matter how long it takes to show up”.

As the storm began to clear, the rainbow began to appear, and now,
The Lena Fund is here.

"Supergirl, you're brave, you're brilliant and you're so resilient"

Educate

In partnership with experienced advisors from various fields of expertise, we aim to provide parents with valuable information and tools required to prepare for the unexpected: childhood illness. Through various seminars, conferences and other media channels, we strive to raise awareness and encourage proactive planning. #LensEducate

Inspire

Lena has taught us that a positive mindset is the key to overcoming the challenges we are faced. Throughout her treatments, Lena continues to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. She is always laughing, playing, singing and dancing. By sharing Lena's journey, we aim to inspire each and every one of you to always remain positive. #LensInspire

Support

We envision a world where children do not have to undergo such intense chemotherapy treatment in order to beat their cancer battle. Our goal is to fund research projects that will lead to more advanced treatments with even better remission rates, less long-term effects and shorter treatment protocols in hopes of finding a cure. #LensSupport

Our ongoing commitment

to the Children's

We have set up an endowment fund, named after Supergirl Lena, under the umbrella of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, in order to ensure that all our funds raised have a long-term impact.

What is an endowment fund?
An endowment fund is a permanent charitable investment, funded entirely by donations. The principal amount is invested and remains intact for a specific purpose.
The investment income generated can be distributed year after year as funding for immediate use, in support of the projects designated by its leaders, all while the original funds invested keep growing.
The funds raised through our various initiatives and events will support the needs of the Hematology-Oncology Division of the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
